#LTStyleTip:The Topper

One of my favourite styles to wear is a topper. I love these knee-length jackets that aren’t heavy like a coat but are more versatile than a regular jacket. I dress mine up for evening, dress them down for the weekend, and then wear them pretty much year ’round (except in a humid Toronto summer). I’ll wear mine over an LBD and heels or with slim trousers and flats. This fall, I’ll be pairing them with cropped jeans and boots. And all four of my favourites are by Dries van Noten, my favourite designer collection. His eclectic style mashes up cultures, textures and colours to create wearable art. I know that I’ll be reaching for these beauties for years to come.

I wanted a pink topper but nothing too girly. Dries van Noten to the rescue. I picked this up in Milan during Fashion Week.
This emerald green and pink combo is so unusual that it goes with everything.
A men's wear inspired fabric gets the glam touch with metallic sequins.
My first Dries topper, purchased in 2013, cost a fortune (more than I had ever spent before - gah!) but I wear it all the time.
